Although Jerusalem is never forgotten by her people, once a year we pause to give special attention to our eternal and beautiful city—Yom Yerushalayim.

For 3,800 years, the Jewish people have been bound to Mount Moriah and Jerusalem. In 1967, after 2,000 years of exile, we returned to the heart of our capital. That return was not the end of the story—it was the beginning of responsibility.

Today, we must continue to keep, secure, rebuild, and redeem Jerusalem, standing firm against those who seek to wrench her away from us. Yom Yerushalayim is a moment to make a clear statement—to ourselves and to the world—that a united Jerusalem belongs to the Jewish people. We have the natural, historical, and moral right to live, govern, and build in every neighborhood of our capital. Now is the time to act. Now is the time to stand behind those on the front lines of this mission, including Ateret Cohanim, working daily to strengthen the Jewish presence in Jerusalem.
