Old Jewish Quarter

The Old Jewish Quarter thrived and encompassed much of today’s “Muslim Quarter” from the Via Delarosa area to today’s Jewish Quarter up until the Arab riots of the 1920s. The Old Jewish Quarter housed Yeshivas, Synagogues, and was the home to leading rabbis. While today’s Old Jewish Quarter has been overrun by Muslim Arabs, many Jewish families have begun to move back, reestablishing the link between the Jewish Nation and this historically significant location within Jerusalem’s Old City.
