There May Be A Ceasefire In Gaza, But The War Continues In Jerusalem

President Trump’s “peace” deal may or may not last in Gaza, and we understand that despite its enabling bringing all living hostages home at once and gradually bringing deceased hostages back as well, much of the other parts of the plan are not favorable to Israel. While it does not mention a “palestinian” state outright, there is a clear allusion to a pathway to a “palestinian” state. This is done to lure Saudi Arabia into normalization with Israel in order to create a trade corridor that would be beneficial to the USA.

Given the fact that Saudi Arabia’s vision of a “palestinian” state includes eastern Jerusalem, the Al Aqsa flood from Gaza may have died down temporarily. Still, the international war against Jewish control over our Biblical and current capital is heating up.

We cannot control what the world powers do or don’t do. As we know, “the heart of the king is in the hands of G-D”, but we can act and strengthen Jewish control over our historical capital. Neighborhoods like the Shiloach (aka Silwan) and Kidmat Tzion are still in their nascent stages. Yet, they are key to blocking any attempt at giving away areas of Jerusalem that have always been Jewish, well before the modern State of Israel came into being.

46 families of dedicated urban pioneers now live in the Shiloach. There is a Beit Knesset at the heart of the Old Yemenite Village now being restored, and many more families are slated to move into the neighborhood with the intent to restoring it to Jewish control.

Kidmat Tzion has permits for 300 units, and yet until they are built, ten families live just over the security wall from Abu Dis, an Arab village that at one time was meant to house the “palestinian” parliament. Kidmat Tzion is built on old Jewish property and its development is key to ensuring a united Jerusalem.

The world wants Israel to grow complacent just as it was before October 7th 2023, but no one is asleep anymore. Trump’s verbiage and false promises of “peace in our time” are distractions. Jews from around the world must work together to strengthen our nation’s hold over all of Jerusalem to ensure that, once and for all, any attempt to wrest control away from the nation of Israel by the international community will be met with failure.

Partner with Ateret Cohanim today to ensure a united and safe Jerusalem in all parts of our ancient capital.
