Keeping Up The Momentum

After the terrorist attacks in Neve Yaakov and the Shiloach over last Shabbat, what lessons can we learn about how to move forward as a nation. It is key to see that the terrorists are seeking to break our rightful hold over our eternal capital – Jerusalem.

This is why the importance of returning to all parts of the capital, no matter how daunting the task, cannot be overstated. The Shiloach may see like another world with only 46 Jewish families living there, but the number has doubled in the past two years. This is why the arabs incite to kill. They know they are losing. Their rights in that neighborhood are based on a history of land theft and now they have lost court case after court case.

Attacks on our sovereignty should never be seen as if we are losing or the situation is spiraling out of control as international media has suggested, but rather a sign that we are in fact winning. After all, the enemy has nothing else to rely on other than indiscriminate violence.

And what was our response – to march and sing and wave flags at the spot of the attack. Unity above all else. Love of the Land and the Nation of Israel. It is this love that propels us forward to finish the arduous journey to Redemption that lies before us.

With this love we will win, no matter how violent our enemies get.
