Purim, Protests, and Jerusalem

This week was a pivotal week for those of us who are tired of watching the unbridled hatred displayed at the protests taking place across the country. Just today an angry mob surrounded haircutter of Sarah Netanyahu. Other protests have tried to block parliamentarians from getting to the Knesset.

What Am Yisrael needs right now is not to fight a civil war.

Purim is about unity. It is this unity that that we need right now. With Iran coming closer and closer to a bomb, the need for unity is key. The best way to truly find unity in the Jewish nation is our attachment to Jerusalem. The eternal capital of the Jewish people is much more than a simple piece of real estate. Rather, Jerusalem is the heart of the Jewish nation – pumping blood throughout all of us.

While we may seem to be at odds with on another – the Jewish people can and will find a path forward just like the Jews in the time of Esther.
